A Little Paint, A Lot of Heart: My First Art Release

A Little Paint, A Lot of Heart: My First Art Release

The last few months have been rough. There’s no other way to put it. Since being laid off from my job, I’ve been navigating the uncertainty that comes with job searching, trying to stay positive while also dealing with the stress of not knowing what comes next. It’s been a challenge to stay true to myself, to nurture my creativity, and to not let self-doubt creep in too much.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that creativity is an anchor—it’s something that has always been there for me, even when everything else feels unsteady.

I’ve always loved making art, and over the years, I’ve experimented with so many different mediums—ceramics, acrylic painting, wood burning—you name it, I’ve probably dabbled in it. About a year ago, I started painting with watercolors, and something clicked. Watercolor became an escape, a way to let go of stress and just create. I spent time exploring different techniques, figuring out what resonated with me, and slowly but surely, my own artistic style began to take shape.

My style is still evolving (and I think it always will be), but I’ve found a few things that truly inspire me: bold, bright colors, simple yet striking scenes, midcentury influences, and—at the heart of it all—a deep love for western themes. There’s something about the vast landscapes, the nostalgia, and the rugged romance of the West that keeps calling me back.

That’s what led me to create Boots, Bones & Blushes, my very first limited-edition watercolor print collection. This series is playful, a little flirty, and full of western charm—think cowboys, skeletons, sunsets, and some well-loved boots. Every print is hand-numbered, printed on archival-quality watercolor paper, and matted with care by me. It’s been such a rewarding process to bring this collection to life, and it’s just the beginning. My goal is to release a new limited series of prints each month, each with its own unique theme. I may also start offering some original paintings and definitely some of my wood burning pieces for sale as well (like this one below!).

I take so much pride in this collection that I am personally printing, matting, and packaging each of these prints in-house. Every single order gets my full attention, from the moment it’s printed to the moment it’s wrapped up and ready to ship. This isn’t mass-produced art—it’s something I’ve poured my heart into, and I want each print to feel just as special as the original painting that inspired it.

I won’t lie—I’m nervous about putting my art out there. Art is so subjective, and it’s easy to fall into the comparison trap and convince yourself that you’re not good enough. But I’m choosing to push through that fear and trust that my work will find the right people. If even one of my paintings brings someone a little joy, a little brightness in their day, then it’s worth it.

To everyone who has encouraged me and supported me along the way—thank you. This is a new and exciting chapter for me, and I’m grateful to have you along for the ride. I hope you love this first collection as much as I loved creating it. And if you do, stay tuned—there’s more to come.

Cheers to creating, to taking risks, and to finding new ways forward.
