Dead Serious is the darker sister of the Dead trio; a skeletal cowgirl disappearing beneath an oversized black hat covered in burned roses, with a tiny skull at the band and barbed wire stretched across her red top.
The deep blacks and reds against the turquoise background give this piece a moodier edge, while the natural wood grain shows through the burned and painted details throughout.
She’s not mad. Probably. But I wouldn’t push it.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a one-of-a-kind original created by hand using pyrography (wood burning) and painted mixed-media details on a natural wood slice.
The wood measures approximately 6.5″ × 11″ and is about .6″ thick. Natural bark edges, grain, texture and variations in the wood are intentionally preserved as part of the finished artwork, making the piece truly unique.
A little extra lore: Dead Serious also inspired the bonus art print created for the inaugural October 2026 Splash & Skillet Send. The two pieces aren’t identical, but you’ll definitely see the family resemblance.
A sawtooth hanger is installed on the back, so your artwork arrives ready to hang.
