Pretty Dead pairs a grinning skeleton cowgirl with a black hat, purple plaid, red bandana and a whole lot of roses. Against the bright turquoise background, the burned details and saturated color make her equal parts sweet, strange and unapologetically Western.
She may be dead, but subtle she is not.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a one-of-a-kind original created by hand using pyrography (wood burning) and painted mixed-media details on a natural wood slice.
The wood measures approximately 7.5″ x 11″ and is about .6″ thick. Natural bark edges, grain, texture and variations in the wood are intentionally preserved as part of the finished artwork, making the piece truly unique.
A sawtooth hanger is installed on the back, so your artwork arrives ready to hang.
Only one original exists.
Because this piece is made on natural wood, irregularities in the surface and edges are part of its character.
